About

I'm Sheila Monsod, and since 2020, I've been dedicated to supporting individuals on their path to recovery. My qualifications include a CCAPP - CADC II, DOT - SAP certification, and a Master’s degree in Management and Leadership from Pepperdine University. My journey in the field of recovery began back in 2002, and in 2006, I decided to make it my profession. I started as a certified counselor for a non-profit organization, Phoenix House Venice. This remarkable facility specializes in assisting parolees, probationers, and federal pre-trial clients as they reintegrate into society. My dedication and commitment soon led to a promotion to Facility Project Administrator. In this role, I took charge of various aspects, including compliance requirements, overall operations, funding source compliance, and certification board adherence. Additionally, I played a pivotal role in assembling a dedicated team of employees, counselor and therapist interns, and volunteers. After two rewarding years in administration, I made a choice to return to the clinical side of the field. Once again, I was promoted, this time to Senior Counselor in outpatient programs and services. Here, I managed a caseload of up to 23 clients and honed my skills in time management.Fueled by my ambition and a genuine passion for helping people, I transitioned to the for-profit sector of substance use and treatment programs, serving as a Human Resource Manager. I successfully staffed four residential programs, overseeing roles ranging from counselors to therapist interns and LVNs. My dedication in this capacity lasted for five fulfilling years. However, my journey didn't stop there. I decided to pursue further education, which led me to a part-time role at the Union Rescue Mission in downtown Skid Row from 2016 to 2020. From being a part-time clerk, I swiftly climbed the ranks to become the Volunteers Department Manager, and shortly after completing my Master's degree at Pepperdine University, I assumed the position of Philanthropy Officer. In this role, I managed a portfolio of over 500 dedicated donors committed to helping the unhoused population.Driven by my dedication to my children, I sought a unique opportunity to provide counseling and group facilitation. Today, I've come full circle in my journey, combining my extensive experience, education, and unwavering commitment to make a meaningful impact on individuals seeking recovery.I look forward to connecting, collaborating, and making a positive difference in the lives of those on their journey to recovery.
